Social Programme

During the Colloquium we have arranged several occasions where the delegates will have ample time to mingle and enjoy the company of colleagues from around the world:

Sunday Brunch. Before the official opening of the 8ICP you will be treated with a variety of nice food accompanied by great Jazz music by "The Organizers". The brunch will be inside the Marble Hall of KVL where you will also find the registration desk and the company exhibition. The poster area is also adjoining so plan on going early so you will have plenty of time to register, set up your poster and discuss paratuberculosis and other world-matter issues before the scientific sessions come to life.

City Hall/Tivoli. Tuesday evening we have all been invited to a reception in the Copenhagen City Hall. The Copenhagen City Hall was build in 1815 and is today one of the most outstanding buildings in the city. Inside the decorations are beautiful and the City Hall receptions are famous for the magnificent pancakes served along with other nice delis. After the reception you may take the opportunity to visit the wonderful Tivoli gardens across the street. A ticket for the entrance fee on this night is included in the registration package.

Banquet. It is a tradition that the ICP hosts an official Colloquium Banquet and we had originally decided on the cosy Nyhavn Færgekro as our venue. However, the very high number of delegates has forced us to change to the magnificent Moltkes Mansion. This, newly renovated mansion was originally built in 1702, is decorated in traditional style and located just behind the Royal Amalienborg Palace. You can get a preview of what to expect by checking their photo gallery. Before we enter Moltkes a boat trip around the canals of Copenhagen will make you relax and enjoy some fresh air after what we hope to be 4 days of scintillating science covering the newest discoveries in the field of paratuberculosis. The banquet will be followed by dancing to the music from a 5-man band playing.

Roskilde Cathedral and Vikingship Museum. The day after the official closing of the 8ICP we have reserved a number of smaller rooms to host the dedicated workshops that we hope will become a new tradition with the following ICPs. The workshops should stimulate new directions of your research and give you the possibility to discuss the results and ideas presented during the previous days with those who wish to stay along for another day. After the workshops it will be possible to join us on a tour to the old city of Roskilde to see the grand cathedral where most of the Danish Royal Family is buried (a UNESCO world heritage site) and the Vikingship museum. The excursion will also include dinner for all who attend.

The 8ICP Colloquium Dinner will be held at the beautiful Moltkes Mansion
