Opening and Presentation of the Hans Christian Andersen Awards

The Opening Ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 18.45, in Glassalen, the charming theatre of the famous Tivoli Garden in the heart of Copenhagen.

You will be welcomed by Brian Mikkelsen, the minister of culture.

After the opening, the Hans Christian Andersen Awards will be presented to the winners as part of a festive program in Glassalen.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark, who is the patron of the Awards and of the Congress, will be present.

The program will be followed by a buffet in the nearby restaurant Påfuglen.

Reception by the City of Copenhagen

On Tuesday evening, September 9, the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen will offer us a buffet reception at the town hall, at 18:45.

During the reception, the IBBY-Asahi Reading Promotion Awards will be presented to the winners.

Closing Ceremony and Farewell Dinner

These events will take place on Wednesday, September 10, in the old circus of Copenhagen, very close to Tivoli.
